Bee Beard

Posted by Magda (Vancouver, Canada) on 11 September 2008 in People & Portrait.

This demonstration was done behind glass windows. Anyone brave enough can experience this during a tour at the Honeybee Centre in Surrey, BC. :) Not me!

Thank you so much for taking your time to visit and comment on my photographs. It is greatly appreciated! :)

Eeeek! Words are failing me - I am at a complete loss as to why anyone would want to do this. Nice bee detail, I think I can see each and every one of them. Its kind of frightening! :-)

I will agree with Kylie here. I am also allergic to bee stings, and one got me on the palm of my left hand 20 days ago. I think in about a week it will be healed, but the Urgent Care was a big help. I admire folks like this man who can allow creatures to "bee" this close, but I wonder how they get the bees to fly off. Did you watch the process of removing them?

18 Sep 2008 7:42am

@San G.: Yes, I did San. They just sweep them off with a soft brush... I might post some photos from that part of the demonstration in the next few days. :)
